Our practice receives patients with previous surgeries from other surgeons requiring revision surgery. While challenging, we strive to provide each of our patients the best result no matter what has been previously done.
Often, these procedures require exchange of the implant, removal of the breast capsule, and a lift.

Patient 1
36 year old female who underwent submuscular breast augmentation with an outside surgeon who developed rippling, animation deformity (implant moves with contraction of the muscle) drooping of the nipples.
The Problem:
Improper dissection of the breast pockets, too large of an implant, and no lift performed
Dr. Anup Patel performed the following to address these issues:
- Implant exchange with smaller silicone implant
- Proper dissection of the breast pocket with removal of the capsule
- Breast lift to position the nipples in the appropriate place
Patient 2
45 year old female who underwent submuscular breast augmentation with an outside surgeon who presented to our practice unhappy about the implant position and size of the implant.
The Problem:
Improper dissection of the breast pockets, failure incorporate the patient’s desire for upper pole fullness when selecting implant
We performed the following to address these issues:
- Implant exchange with larger silicone implant
- Left breast capsulorraphy on the lateral aspect to prevent lateral displacement of the implant
- Right breast radial expansion medially to enable the pocket to expand medial restoring the inframammary fold

Dr. Anup Patel
Dr. Anup Patel is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon trained in aesthetic, hand/upper extremity and reconstructive surgery. He completed his plastic and reconstructive surgery training at the premier Yale University followed by a hand and microsurgery fellowship at the New York University Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Mount Sinai Department of Orthopedics. Dr. Patel received his MD and MBA from the Yale University School of Medicine and Yale University School of Management, respectively. He graduated as the valedictorian of his class at the University of Florida majoring in economics, biochemistry and molecular genetics and valedictorian of his high-school class at Lake Highland.
